About Me
Hello, I’m Scott. I grew up in a small community in San Diego, California, called Mission Beach. In our household, we did not have a television. We had the beach and the bay. We had surfing, cycling and lots of other adventurous outdoor sports. I developed a love for the ocean at a very young age. My friends and I would ride waves in the morning, and when the wind came up, we would walk across the peninsula and go Snorkeling and Sailing in the bay. I learned to sail in a Sabot, then moved up to Lasers, Lidos, Hobie, and Prindle Cats. I loved sailing them all.
In my early 20s, I moved to Mammoth Lakes, California, and became invested in that lifestyle. I would Ski, Cycle, and do a lot of hiking and fishing in the summer. At 24, I met my wife there in Mammoth, and we started a family. We moved back to Southern California and fell into the rat race with all the trimmings. I did manage to continue to Surf, Sail and do a lot of cycling, always dreaming of buying a cruiser and sailing away.
In 2022, I found myself in an empty nest. My sons are all grown now and living their own lives. I started to travel for surfing and cycling, visiting many fun destinations. Then one day, I realized I had the freedom to buy that boat and start my journey. My goal is to sail around the world. The reality is that I might only make it to Ensenada and decide to turn back. Either way, I will be able to look back and say, I tried.
